Holotropic Breathwork

Holotropic Breathwork

Holotropic – the movement towards wholeness

'With over fifty years of modern consciousness research, Stanislav Grof, MD, developed Holotropic Breathwork based on the transformative potential of non-ordinary states of consciousness, anthropology, transpersonal psychology, and mystical traditions from around the world'.

Holotropic Breathwork is a powerful experiential approach accessing the inner healing wisdom within each individual. It utilizes breathing, music and focused energy release work to access the deeper dimensions of the psyche that can include biographical, perinatal and transpersonal realms of consciousness.

Life's many challenges from birth onward can leave us puzzled - 'why are my relationships unsatisfactory?' – 'why do I feel angry, afraid, frustrated, betrayed, unmotivated, inadequate, spiritually adrift?'- in ways that go deeper than just  present day events.

All these and much more may provide gateways into the deeper realms of the 'self' where underlying issues may find healing.

Integration is important after Breathwork so that, that, which has been experienced in the session can be understood and digested as far as possible at that point and can be enhanced by mandala drawing, journalling, sandplay, voice dialogue and gestault modalities.

Weekend Group Workshops

If you have a small group of up to four people interested in a weekend workshop then please contact us so we can make arrangements for accommodation etc. There are a number of airbnb's and B&B's nearby.

Each participant will experience two sessions, one as a 'breather' and one as a 'sitter' in order to fully embrace both aspects of the Holotropic process.

The workshop will usually start on Friday evening with a group meeting for introductions and a talk about Holotropic Breathwork followed by supper.

Saturday morning begins with a reflective activity then discussion and information about Holotropic Breathwork and time for questions then a light lunch. The first breath session follows lunch, after which there will be time for integration, sharing (if you feel comfortable with that) and supper.

On Sunday again, we start with the reflective activity, followed by a breath session and integration then lunch, a group gathering and sharing then close of workshop in the late afternoon.
